#372 Addressing Neuroplasticity in the Pediatric Concussion, TBI and Stroke
 
The CDC estimates there are between 1.4 to 3.8 million concussions per year.  Falls and sports are the main culprits, but concussions and traumatic brain injuries may result from internal and/or external causes.  Damage to brain cells and pathways demonstrate atypical symptoms arising from brain regions and/or cranial nerves.  Neurological areas of damage may or may not be visible on MRI scans.  We must rely on our keen evaluation techniques and then treat with neuroplasticity techniques to connect to undamaged brain regions to promote quality function.  Simple techniques will be presented that may be implemented the next treatment day. Course methods include Lecture, Demonstration, Pictures/Graphs, Videos, Group Discussion, Case Studies, and Question/Answer.
